Leicesters Kelechi Iheanacho set for spell on sidelines with thigh injury
Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho is set to be out for “a number of weeks” following the striker tearing his adductor muscle.
The 26-year-old was replaced during the second half of Leicester’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United on Tuesday, having started the game at Elland Road.
Manager Dean Smith admitted it will be difficult to see him return to action again this season.
He said: “He’s got a tear in his adductor muscle.

“He’s out for a number of weeks. I’m not going to rule him out for the rest of the season, but it’s going to be tough to get him back. Hopefully we can.
“It’s a blow. He came on at half-time against Manchester City and did ever so well. He played really well in the Wolves game as well. He scored the penalty and created chances.
“His all-round displays have been really good, so it’ll be a loss, but it’s an opportunity for others.”
Iheanacho’s injury comes as a blow to Leicester, with the Nigeria international netting twice in his last three Premier League matches. He has scored eight goals in all competitions this season.
Leicester face Everton in the Premier League on Monday night and Smith will be boosted by the news that captain Jonny Evans looks set to return to first-team training.
The 35-year-old hasn’t featured for his side since March, having been sidelined with a viral infection and a calf injury.
Full-back Ricardo Pereira is also making progress as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury that has kept him out of Leicester’s last three matches.
“Jonny Evans hopefully will train tomorrow. Had a viral infection and a calf injury,” Smith added.
“Ricardo is progressing nicely and we hope to have him back soon.”
